The two had not been charged in connection to the shooting until now:
COBB COUNTY – New documents from the Cobb County Police Department link two Florida men to a violent crime outside a Cobb County restaurant.
On Tuesday, 11Alive obtained criminal warrants for Demarious Green and Dylan Marquis Ledbetter. The two are charged with shooting a couple outside a Pappadeaux’s restaurant on Windy Hill Road last October.
According to police, Anthony and Cynthia Welch were walking to their car from the restaurant on Friday, Oct. 7 when Green and Ledbetter approached them. One of the men fired at the couple, hitting both. They were transported to the hospital, but Anthony was later pronounced dead.
Ledbetter and Green had already been in jail for prior crimes, but had never been charged with the shootings of the Welches. These warrants connect the two to that incident.

The two Florida men were previously suspected of an armed robbery and aggravated assault in Woodstock before the Pappadeaux’s shooting. Days later, they were also involved in an officer-involved shooting outside a Windy Hill Road gas station, after police connected their vehicle to the restaurant shooting. Witness video from the scene shows the intense moments during the shooting.
Ledbetter and Green are each charged with felony murder, two counts of armed robbery and two counts aggravated assault with the intent to rob the Welches, according to the warrants.
Green is being held in Cherokee County Jail. Ledbetter, who was also wanted for an attempted murder out of Florida, remains behind bars in Cobb County.
