Personal Statement
Playing College basketball has been a dream of mine since I first started playing back in the 3rd grade. I remember my team winning the third place game in my very first tournament. The trophy was almost taller than I was. I immediately fell in love with the sport and it has been a big part of my life ever since.
My size has always made basketball a little more challenging for me than for other players. It has also enabled me to learn that hard work and dedication can overcome just about any obstacle. My work ethic and passion for playing have given me the opportunity to be successful where others have failed. I am a living example that anyone can do anything.
I keep my same competitive mentality in the classroom that I use on the basketball court. I plan to graduate from college with honors. I am going to choose a field of study that will allow me to stay involved with basketball after my playing days come to an end. I am interested in the business side of the sport and also coaching. I like the idea of being in a position to help a future student athlete accomplish their goal the way some people have helped me to accomplish mine.
