Personal Statement

My name is Trevor Roznowski and I am a sophomore in high school. I am an active, three sport student athlete at Alpena High School. I compete on the varsity football team, the junior varsity basketball team, and I throw shot put and discus on the track team. I'm striving for an opportunity to further my football career and improve my skills at the collegiate level. Generally, I am an outgoing and joyful person and I always hope for the best in the life I've been blessed with.  I'm a hard worker in the three sports I participate in as well as in the classroom. I always aim to do my best and that is mostly what is expected of me. I enjoy working towards a goal as well as making people feel better than before. I am active as an altar server at my church and hope to earn a place in the National Honor Society next year. The members of my family have always been a huge contributing factor to my success simply by their continued encouragement and support in everything that I do. Nothing would be more fulfilling than the chance to play collegiately and make my family even more proud. I know that if I want to achieve something, I'm going to have to work for it. This past summer attempting to make the varsity team as a sophomore was an amazing journey. It taught me the value of hard work, perseverance when things get tough, and the sheer importance of family support. It's easy to look back on what I have accomplished in my life and to be happy, but it's another thing to be satisfied.  I don't think I could ever be satisfied just with where I'm at because I know there could be someone out there studying, lifting weights, or doing drills to get ahead of me. One of my favorite quotes is one of professional football player J.J. Watt: "Success isn't owned, it's rented, and rent is due everyday". I know I have many more payments to make. I want to be the best I can be and that's what drives me in all aspects of my life. I may not be there yet, but I am sure working to get there.
