Personal Statement
I have many strengths on and off the field, which include being self-motivating and reliable. I go to the weight room at my school to do soccer-directed exercises to help with my strength, speed, and explosiveness. I am able to play many positions on the field, but I excel at defense. Despite having been a center back for years, when I got to the high school level I started to play outside defense. I have found this to be a valuable asset to my skills, as it forced me to take a more offensive roll and helped me to become more comfortable with my left foot. I play a year up during the club season club because I wanted to challenge myself playing with older and better players. I'm very independent and have always been a leader on my teams as well as at school. I volunteer for clubs at my school such as Best Buddies and the Environmental Club, which help to provide a break from academics and athletics.. I have always been a gifted student, especially at mathematics. Right now, I am interested in the field of engineering and would prefer a school with a strong engineering program. I hope to go to a great school with a Division 1 team, but acknowledge that there are many great players with the same aspirations so I am very open to other opportunities.
