MARIETTA, Ga. — Some residents in Cobb County are finding major damage after a storm ripped through their neighborhood, leaving many badly damaged homes in its wake.

One street in particular seemed to be hit the hardest - Brownmoore Drive near Ranae Lane.

“There’s at least eight down on three different houses so far. There are a couple of hanging pieces throughout the neighborhood. There are several hanging pieces that are perched there and need to come down before they fall on houses," said arborist John Booth.

Booth’s parents live in the middle of two houses where trees snapped and left major damage behind.

He said his parent’s home was spared because they took his advice and cut several trees down a few months back.

“A regular Joe doesn’t know anything about trees, and Google has limited options, so it's really important to speak with someone who knows what they’re doing and has education behind their name," said Booth.

11Alive reached out to the National Weather to find out if they are planning to survey the area to determine if the storm was a tornado—but right now, there are no plans in the works for this area.
