The backup quarterback job will undoubtedly be decided after St. Louis' fourth preseason game. Many felt Austin Davis would run away with the job, yet that has failed to happen. However, it shouldn't shock anyone if he makes a strong case to be the No. 2 with a strong performance versus the Baltimore Ravens.
Defensive end Gerald Rivers would make a fine addition to any defensive line rotation; however, it's just a numbers game at this point. The Rams are ridiculously deep at defensive tackle and defensive end. Rivers is a prime practice squad candidate.
Without question, the organization was hoping to get more out of safety Matt Giordano. He hasn't been able to show anything because of his health. It appears as if the team will ride the youth wave at safety for the second season in a row.
