Personal Statement
I have been playing baseball since I was five years old and have wanted to play at the collegiate level for as long as I can remember. My dad inspired me to have a passion for the sport having played in college and the minor leagues himself. After playing for years on Little League and club teams, I was ecstatic to join the Mira Costa Mustangs that I had long admired. In high school, I have balanced both my commitment to my teams and my love of music, as I am also a percussionist in the Wind Symphony. As a percussionist, I have had to learn and perform on many different instruments, which I have translated to my diverse responsibilities on the field as a pitcher, outfielder, and infielder. Managing these pursuits as well as staying on top of my rigorous academic schedule has allowed me to learn time-management, communication, and leadership skills.
I hope to find a college that fits me both athletically and academically. My ambition is to play college baseball and pair this with a Mathematics major so I can ultimately pursue my dream of a career in data analytics for an MLB team. I am eager to bring the skills I’ve learned throughout my life and baseball career to a college that helps me meet these goals.
