Personal Statement
Throughout my high school career, I have grown and matured, physically, mentally, academically, and athletically, and throughout this development, I have leadrned valuable life lessons which help to guide me now, as a junior in high school, and will continue to guide me in the future. I believe that career as a collegiate soccer player will help to bolster that trove of learning. My high school career has also instilled in me some key qualities that will help me to succeed in a collegiate environment: work ethic, perseverance, and a passion for my future. As a student athlete, I have had to master the often tricky skill of time management, which is a must have skill in any environment. I am a firm believer in success by work. The road to success is paved by hard work and perseverance, and college will be no exception. Everyone suffers trials and endures suffering- it is simply a part of life. I have experienced my own fair share of lifes turbulent storms, and I have no doubt that I will face plenty more in the future. My storms have proven to be challenging, but not unconquerable, and they have served to strengthen my character and my belief in the principles that I hold to be true: hard work, self sacrifice, and humility. Nothing in this world is given. It is earned. It is earned through the blood, sweat, and tears that come as a result of hard work. Self sacrifice is the duty of those brave enough to fulfill it, despite personal danger or risk. And last but certainly not least is humility. As a famous author once said, "Let your performance do the talking for you." Nobody likes the guy who is arrogant and and a braggart. The good players are confident in their ability and dont bother with bragging. They stick to the hard work that got them there in the first place. And thats exactly what I intend to do. Work hard. Play harder. Stay humble. Thank you for your time and consideration.
