Personal Statement

Playing volleyball has had a big impact on my life.  Since age 11, I have been in love with the sport. One thing that I love about it is how much of a team sport it is.  All six players on the court have to be working together in order to get the job done.  Whenever I step onto the court, I strive to be the best player and teammate on the court, and this transfers to the classroom as well.

I have maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout my first three years at Commack High School. I am involved in two clubs at my school, and I am on the board for both.  I am the eleventh grade representative for both the Interact Club and the College and Career Fair.  These two positions also showcase my leadership skills.

I have received numerous academic awards as well as many athletic awards.  I feel I am well equipped to face any challenge that comes my way.  I am very coachable and welcome advice on how I can further myself as an athlete and as a human being.  Playing Collegiate Volleyball has been a dream of mine, and I am working very hard to achieve it.

I have two years of varsity experience as a Junior.  I am in my second club volleyball season with LIVBC.  Volleyball has truly become a huge part of my life and it will continue to be in the years to come.
