…Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for such is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 19:14)
This is to certify that Miracle Naomi Cuffee Porter departed this life on May 12, 2022. At her side as always was her loving mother Elois Cuffee Smith, her father Braxton Porter, her devoted sister Damelia Cuffee and her aunt Low Low (Lorraine Pierce).
Miracle was well loved. She had an old spirit that she NO DOUBT picked up from her great-grandmother, Celeste Reavis and her grandmother Carolyn Porter. In her early years of life they were like the three musketeers, always together. Miracle loved life. Educated in the Portsmouth school system, she was always trying to live life to the fullest. Trying to do everything children of her age take for granted.
Just like her mother Lucy, Miracle was a talker. Everyone in Portsmouth, her church, and her school knew that mouth. Being born with two holes in her heart never stopped her from living. Always babysitting for someone, I think the energy and life of being with younger kids kept her going. She will sadly be missed, but we know that God is too wise to make a mistake and too just to be unjust.
She lived to recently celebrate the 17 years that God blessed her with. Her mother Elois Cuffee Smith and her father Braxton, both of Portsmouth, Virginia. Her Grandmother Carolyn Porter, two sisters Damelia Cuffee and Irene Cuffee of Portsmouth. Three uncles, Kelvin Porter, Darryl Cuffee of Portsmouth and Brian Cuffee (Sandra) of Norfolk, Virginia. Five Aunts, Irene P. Cuffee, Lorraine Cuffee, and Pamela Boyd (Walter) of Chesapeake. Kim Porter of Georgia and Detricia Lynch of Portmouth. Her best friend and cousin Mikayla Thornton of Chesapeake. Four nieces Kim, Samya, and Courtney of Georgia and Lauryn Parker of Portsmouth. One Great Uncle James Reavis Bro (Joyce) and two nephews, Isaac Cuffee and Ian McClenney of Portsmouth.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Braxton Porter Cuffee (Busta); sisters Kathy Porter Cuffee and Giovonni Parker. Grandparents Irene and Joseph Cuffee and Grandfather Braxton Porter Sr.Great grandparents Celeste and James Reavis. Favorite cousin Stanley Parker and Aunt Lillian C. Lyons.
Miracle loved her church. She was a member of New Fellowship Deliverance Church of Chesapeake, Virginia. Damon Hodge is Pastor and Iris Hodge is First Lady. She was a member of Girls and Pearls.
Miracle will be sadly missed. Not just by those she loved, but by those who loved her. Rest in peace our baby.
