Personal Statement
Admitted and committed to Williams College and Ephs Football, Class of 2023!
I am a high achieving student-athlete. The importance of academic success as a means to a spiritually and an intellectually satisfying life has been ingrained in me from my earliest memories. Enmeshed in this life philosophy is an emphasis on equally developing my physical and emotional strengths. In this regard, team sports have been a driving force in my growth. Between the management of strenuous academic courses and intense preparation for the next game, I have learned many skills that I could have not learned elsewhere, namely: consistency, hard work, and integrity. Besides strengthening my technique and game play on the field, football in particular has provided an opportunity for me to cultivate the key character traits of accountability to myself and others, diplomacy, teamwork and perseverance. Further, as I have learned and developed in the role of quarterback over the past three years, I have also learned how to step into the role of being a true leader, both on and off the field. I have the ability to make executive decisions, to coordinate others in a cooperative manner, to motivate myself and others to achieve their individual best, and to stay composed and collected under pressure. Overall, my failures and successes, both on and off the football field, have taught me life’s most important lesson - humility. I would be nothing without God or the love and support of my family, friends, teachers, and coaches along the way.
I am excited to continue my search for the right institution that will provide me with the ability to excel in a STEM related field while allowing me to continue my football career at the collegiate level. Wherever I ultimately choose to attend college and whatever degree I choose to pursue, I can guarantee one thing: I will take full advantage of all of the opportunities that come my way, thus ensuring my continued academic and athletic success.
