Michael Anthony Hudgins was born on October 5, 1956, to the late Gilbert and Dorothy Hudgins. On January 13, 2022, he passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side. Michael was a dedicated employee for the City of Norfolk where he retired after twenty-eight years. In his spare time, he loved listening to music, dancing, shopping, and making lasting memories with family. He grew up in the Tidewater area and was known as “Mike Mike.”

Michael had a heart of gold and lived a life of love, compassion, and empathy. He was an extraordinary husband, an incredible father, a committed son, a loving brother, and a joy to all he came in contact with. He had a genuine heart; a gentle soul and his demeanor was very mild-mannered. He dedicated his time caring for, supporting, and encouraging his family, friends and loved ones. He was wise beyond his years and took time to spread his knowledge to those around him. He will forever be honored and remembered by his loving wife and companion of 42 years and his nine children!

Michael is preceded in death by his daughter April Hudgins; his three brothers Gilbert Hudgins Jr, Rudolph Booker and Selista Hudgins; his two sisters Sarah Hudgins and Yvonne Melvin. Loving memories are cherished by his wife, Peggy Hudgins; his three daughters, Precious, Cherish and Chastity: his five sons, Brandon (Keyanna), Byron, Michael, Marlon and Phillip; his grandchildren, Brielle, Cameron, Santana, Jeremiah and Jordan; his three sisters Evelyn Sharpe (Marvin), Dorothy Hines (Reginald) and Nellicile Royals (Willie); a devoted nephew, Anthony Hudgins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
