Personal Statement

I believe that hard work and perseverance is what drives me in everything I do both in the classroom and on the field.

In the classroom,  I am currently in the top 10% of my graduating class. I currently have a 3.95 on a weighted scale and have made honor roll each semester since entering high school.  My studies are focused on science and mathematics taking honors classes in each, and also preliminary engineering courses which is my intended focus of study in college.

I began my track career before entering high school through my community track club. I began to excel in the field events very quickly and began to receive national recognition in various track competitions through USATF.  I also have records both locally and regionally. Having that experience gave me an advantage as I began my career in high school. I qualified in discus, javelin, and shot put my freshman and sophomore year for the PIAA track and field championships. I also broke my high school discus and shot put record, which sat for 17 years.  After track and field, my next passion is playing basketball. I currently start on the varsity team and this year, I have 616 points and over 475 rebounds. I am always pushing myself to strive to do my best and excel whether it is on the field or the basketball court.

Though my sporting schedule keeps me fairly busy all the time, I also stay involved in helping my community through our high school's interact club. Representing my neighborhood beyond my sporting accomplishments is very important to me. Whether it is helping at our local swim meet, giving to the food bank, or cleaning up our community,  I believe that being involved gives me the opportunity to give back to others.

In the future, I would like to be given the chance to be on a team that I can continue to strive to be better in everything I do, and contribute in ways that help not only my team mates, but my community as well.
