It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our beloved Margie Y. Canty, 71. Margie was called by the Master to accept her heavenly rewards on April 11, 2023.
Margie was predeceased by her parents, John H. and Naomi S. Cherry, and 5 siblings, Clara, Leslie, Reginald Sr., Carlton Cherry and Pamela Reese. She was educated in the Portsmouth School Public School system and graduated from I.C. Norcom High School, Class of 1969.
In the early 1970’s she served as American Legion’s Ms. Post 190. She retired from (G.E.) General Electric. However, being her own boss was her main goal and she achieved just that.
