Personal Statement
My name is Lucas Dunn and I will graduate from Hampden Academy in 2025. I hope to study criminal justice and law enforcement in college and play hockey while pursuing my educational goals. I live in Maine, but I have my Canadian citizenship as well and this has helped me learn about different cultures and traditions. I have used this knowledge to be a better leader for my team and community. In the 3 year leadership program from Andrews Sports Institue (PEI, Canada), I developed my hockey skills, hockey IQ, created a business earning around 1,000 dollars for hockey tuition, and completed community service projects. These experiences help me to excel at difficult tasks.
My 2018-2019 hockey season was very challenging with many losses. Win or lose, I tried my best and I stayed positive for myself and my team. My self-discipline and ability to handle adversity helped me to stay focused and play a smart game of hockey. My tenacity along with the hard work from my teammates led to the State Championship in 2020.
