ESPN announced Wednesday that it came to terms on a multiyear contract with Lee Corso for him to remain part of the College GameDay pregame show.
Corso has been part of the show for 30 years, as he was an original member when it debuted in 1987.
According to Derek Volner of ESPN MediaZone, Corso remains excited to be part of ESPN's college football flagship after three decades on the job: "I reflect on my 30 years at ESPN and continue to count my blessings each time I walk on the College GameDay set. The fans keep me energized, and being surrounded by such a talented and dynamic GameDay crew is the best medicine for this old coach."
Corso is best known for making his pick for ESPN's top college football game of the day by donning mascot headgear, which is a tradition he started in 1996.
Prior to joining ESPN, Corso was a head football coach at Louisville, Indiana and Northern Illinois. He also coached the Orlando Renegades of the USFL in 1985.
