New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson did not play in his team's 97-92 Game 4 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, but that doesn't mean he didn't give it a try.

Following the game, New York coach Tom Thibodeau said that Robinson participated in pregame warmups to see if he could play but ultimately concluded that he "wasn't quite there."

"He had to go through the warmup and then make a decision as to whether he felt he could go or not," Thibodeau told reporters. "He wasn't quite there, so just keep getting your treatment and get a look at it tomorrow, then we go from there."

Robinson left the Knicks Game 3 loss to the Sixers in a walking boot and notably didn't play in the second half of the game. Earlier in that contest, Sixers center Joel Embiid had a flagrant foul called against him after he grabbed Robinson's leg as the Knick attempted a dunk.

Robinson missed 51 games during the 2023-24 season, 50 of which were a result of a December ankle injury. In the 31 games he did play in, he averaged 5.6 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocks. In the three previous games against the 76ers, he averaged 3.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks.

The Knicks Game 4 victory increased its series lead to 3-1, which puts Philadelphia's season on life support. This could allow the franchise to take a more leisurely approach to Robinsons recovery so that he could be fresher for a potential second round series.

With or without Robinson, New York will aim to close the series out back at home in Game 5. That game is set to tip-off Tuesday at 7 P.M. ET.
