Personal Statement

My name is Jared Quandt.  I’m a 6’, 175 lb. switch-hitting catcher with a strong athletic and academic background from Los Gatos High School in Los Gatos CA (class of 2020).   I have a 3.5 GPA through my Sophomore year (and trending up this year).  My SAT score is 1360.

Academically, I am leaning towards a college major in a field such as Sports Management/Sports Law, Business/Economics, or something in math/science/engineering (I’m still undecided).

In addition to playing baseball for my high school, I’ve also been playing high school football starting my Freshman year. During the summer, I play baseball for Trosky and have also played for CCB (California Club Baseball), Baseball Factory and worked with Perfect Game. I was invited to the Area Code tryout, which I completed on July 11th, in Stockton California.

Some of my volunteer work includes assisting the school with set up of football merchandising, working in a local food pantry called House of Hope, working to remodel a local oncology office, painting at the Community Center, and giving back to Little League and Pony baseball by working with young catchers.  I was also employed by Goodwill, Inc. in the summer of 2017.

My family is very important to me. I have family spread out across the country and my parents have instilled in me the importance of finding ways to remain close, even though we may not see each other often. I email, text and talk with them frequently. I even speak with one of my grandmothers every football game day, and many baseball game days.

In me, you’ll get a top switch-hitting catcher who is grounded, focused, and a dedicated team player who will do everything in my power to help lead our team to success.

I appreciate your time and consideration.
