Personal Statement
Hello! I'm Ireland, a junior at Highland Park High School in Highland Park, IL.
My playing experience ranges from, six years of competitive club seasons to starting on my high school varsity team as a freshman. I've also spent a season playing doubles on the sand/beach courts.
My current position is outside hitter however, a lot of my time on the court has been as a middle blocker. Depending on what my team needs I have experience playing OPP as well.
In looking ahead to college, many schools are appealing to me. I am looking for a good fit both on and off the court and a coach that can help me grow and reach new goals each season.
Of my strengths, coach-ability, passion, motivating others and encouragement are some of which I'm most proud. I am a natural leader due to my positiveness and ability to bring others together. The philosophy that drives me is "good enough" is simply not good enough.
Aside from earning a degree, I expect college will also be life changing in so many ways and I am excited for the challenge. My experiences will be that of exceptional education, making memories and learning life lessons. I believe these will be achieved on the court as well as in the classroom.
