Personal Statement
Hello! My name is Gunnar Simonson. I am currently a junior at Century High School in Rochester, Minnesota. I have researched your school's academic and football programs, and I am impressed by both! I am 6'3" tall and I weigh 265 pounds. I started every varsity game as a sophomore and a junior. My sophomore year, I started on the offensive line at left guard, and I also played some at center during the season. As a sophomore, I was the only player to play every single down on offense. This most recent year as a junior, I played at right tackle and was moved around throughout the season. However, I ended up playing center the majority of the year.
To help improve my football skills, I began wresting my freshman year. I have wrestled all three years of high school, and all three of which at the varsity level. My freshman year, I wrestled in the 220# weight class. My sophomore and junior years, I wrestled in the 285# weight class.
I would like to direct your attention to a link with some highlights from my junior season:
I currently have a 3.4 GPA and a weighted-GPA of 3.7. I have taken, and continue to take, numerous AP and honor’s classes with a goal of an Honor’s Diploma at high school graduation. I am a member of the Link Crew, which is a volunteer mentoring program for underclassmen at my high school. I am scheduled to take The ACT test on April 12, 2014.
