Personal Statement

Hi! My name is Grace Huff, and I've known I have wanted to play softball  in college since I was 6 years old. I strive to be the best I can be, and always keep a positive attitude. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to play varsity ball as a freshman, and I understand how special that is. I treat my team like my family, and I always want whats best for them. By giving my best and being positive, I convince my team to do the same, because we all know if one person's feeling down, it brings the whole team down. Being loose and having fun lets our team perform better, so in the outfield we laugh before the first pitch to make sure the stress is gone and we can focus on the game - it's the best way for our team to come out on top. I would really love to major in Bio-medical engineering to make prosthetics so that people can be the athlete they want to be. I don't want people to stop doing what they love because of physical setbacks. My goal is to solve that problem by inventing prosthetics that allow athletes to excel in their sport, because nothing should hold someone back from doing what they love. I look forward to talking to you about your program.
