Ethan Westerman Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts that Harrogate Cricket Club mourns the untimely and tragic passing of one of its own, Ethan Westerman. The club received the devastating news that Ethan, a cherished member and a gifted cricketer, has left us far too soon. Ethan’s journey with Harrogate CC began in his junior years, having joined us from Spofforth Cricket Club.
Throughout the seasons, he showcased his remarkable talent as a bowler, leading the attack for our men’s second team. His presence coincided with a period of exceptional cricket, marking a time of achievement and camaraderie for the team. Beyond his prowess on the field, Ethan was remembered for his gentle spirit and kindness off the pitch. Polite, generous, and always seeing the best in others, he left an indelible mark on the hearts of his teammates and friends. His positivity and warmth created a sense of unity within the club, making him not only a skilled athlete but also a beloved member of the Harrogate CC family.
Tragically, Ethan’s promising journey was cut short while he was pursuing his studies at the University in Newcastle. The loss of such a vibrant soul at such a young age is a profound sorrow for the entire cricket community. The club extends its deepest condolences to Ethan’s family during this difficult time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jason, Georgia, and Noah as they navigate through this heartbreaking loss. To honor Ethan’s memory, a funeral service will be held at the Harrogate Crematorium on the 1st of December at 1.40 pm. Following the service, a gathering at the Bay Horse in Kirk Deighton will provide an opportunity for friends and teammates to come together, remember Ethan, and find solace in each other’s company during this challenging time.
