The truth behind the Diane Delia murder case
Diane Delia’s life was marked by complicated relationships and significant personal transformations.
Before officially becoming Diane, the transgender was known by the name John Delia.
One of these relationships was with Robert Ferrara, a bartender at The Playroom, a renowned gay bar.
However, Diane’s journey took a new direction when she met Robyn Arnold, a wealthy Jewish-American nurse.
In November 1980, while dating Robyn, John Delia underwent gender reassignment surgery in Colorado.
She embraced her new identity, officially adopting the name Diane, inspired by her favorite drag queen, Diana Ross.
The following year, Diane’s relationship with Robyn began to falter, leading her to marry Robert in the summer of 1981.
As per the report, the pair had an open marriage, allowing Diane to continue her involvement with Robyn and intensifying the complexity of their love triangle.
Later, Diana moved out of her shared residence with Robert and began living with Robyn.
The police found Diana’s lifeless body in the Hudson River dressed in a lavender camisole top and matching pants.
The mystery intensified when the police saw Diane’s body wrapped in a striking yellow colored blanket.
Diane had suffered one bullet wound to the eye and three more to her skull.
The investigation of Diane Delia murder case
Robyn Arnold and Robert Ferrara, both known as Diane Delia’s partners at the time, emerged as prime suspects in her murder.
The authorities charged and apprehended both of Diane’s partners, Robyn and Robert, with murder.
Robyn asserted that she had an alibi at the time of the murder, attempting to distance herself from the crime.
However, the authorities discovered significant evidence pointing toward her involvement. Investigators found Diane’s shoes in Robyn’s closet, a damning piece of evidence that linked her to the crime scene.
According to the authorities, the yellow blanket used to wrap Diane’s body allegedly belonged to Robyn.
