Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden cited "bigger goals" when asked how he was feeling about the upcoming All-Star reserve announcement on Friday.

"I've got bigger goals," Harden told Law Murray of The Athletic.

"None of that—scoring titles and assists and All-Stars and MVPs—right now. I've done it all. I'm here for one reason. And I think everybody knows what the reason is."

Harden made 10 straight All-Star Games from 2013-2022 before missing out last year despite leading the NBA in assists. The then-Philadelphia 76er didn't take kindly to the snub.

Harden could very well miss the All-Star Game for a second straight season, but he's clearly focused on his championship aspirations.

The 34-year-old is enjoying both great individual and team success right now.

For the season, The Beard is averaging 17.2 points, 8.5 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game. Per Basketball-Reference, Harden's 57.1 percent effective field goal percentage is also his best career mark since 2011-12, when he served as the Oklahoma City Thunder's sixth man.

The 31-15 Clippers are also firing on all cylinders right now, sitting just two games behind the Minnesota Timberwolves for first place in the Western Conference. The Clippers have won 23 of their last 28 games, and Harden has played an integral role in that surge.

Harden has a full resume with 10 All-Star appearances, seven All-NBA nods, three scoring titles and an NBA MVP award. The only thing that's missing is a ring, but this could very well be the year that he achieves that honor.

Harden is clearly focused on that task at hand, and he and the Clippers will look to keep it rolling Friday when they visit the Detroit Pistons.
